        "rendered": "<p><strong>Helen Lepalaan<\/strong><br \/>\ngraduated from the Estonian Academy of Music and studied further in Holland and Germany.<\/p>\n<p>In 2006\u20132008 she was the soloist of Opera Zuid, where, in addition to other roles, she has sung the leading roles in Bizet\u2019s \u201cCarmen\u201d, Massenet\u2019s \u201cCinderella\u201d and Rossini\u2019s \u201cIl barbiere di Siviglia\u201d. Her repertoire includes also Dorabella (Mozart\u2019s \u201cCos\u00ec fan tutte\u201d), Kate Pinkerton and Suzuki (Puccini\u2019s \u201cMadama Butterfly\u201d), Maddalena (Verdi\u2019s \u201cRigoletto\u201d), Tchaikovsky\u2019s Polina (\u201cThe Queen of Spades\u201d) and Olga (\u201cEugene Onegin\u201d), Blanche (Prokofiev\u2019s \u201cThe Gambler\u201d), Valet (Dvo\u0159\u00e1k\u2019s \u201cRusalka\u201d), Orlofsky (Strauss\u2019 \u201cDie Fledermaus\u201d), Carmela (de Falla\u2019s \u201cLa vida breve\u201d), mezzo-soprano solos in Ravel\u2019s opera \u201cL\u2019enfant et les sortileges\u201d and in Debussy\u2019s opera-ballet \u201cThe Martyrdom of St. <em>Sebastian\u201d. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Her concert repertoire includes&nbsp;<\/em>Berlioz\u2019s&nbsp;\u201c<em>Les nuits d\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9\u201d<\/em><em>&nbsp;<\/em>with the Netherlands National Youth Orchestra (cond. Ludovic Morlot), mezzo-soprano parts in oratorios, including J. S. Bach\u2019s \u201cMass in B minor\u201d, St John\u2019s and St Matthew\u2019s \u201cPassion\u201d as well as the \u201cChristmas Oratorio\u201d, H\u00e4ndel\u2019s \u201cMessiah\u201d, Mozart\u2019s \u201cMass in C Minor\u201d KV 427, Requiems by Verdi and Dvo\u0159\u00e1k, Beethoven\u2019s \u201cMissa solemnis\u201d and Symphony No. 9, Rossini\u2019s \u201cPetite messe solennelle\u201d, Mahler\u2019s cantata-symphony \u201cSong of the Earth\u201d, etc. Her singing has found much acclaim by the international press.<\/p>\n<p>She has sung on many renowned stages in Germany, Belgium, Holland, and England, including Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Welsh National Opera, and Heidelheim Opera Festival. Since 2009 she sings in the chamber music ensemble \u201cTrio Kybele\u201d, the prize winner of many international music competitions. Her recent engagements include performing the title role in Bizet\u2019s \u201cCarmen\u201d at the Heidelheim Opera Festival<em>&nbsp;and a debut at Opera North with the role of Sesto in Mozart\u2019s \u201cLa clemenza di Tito\u201d (2013)<\/em>. At the Estonian National Opera Lepalaan has sung the title role in Bizet\u2019s \u201cCarmen\u201d and in H\u00e4ndel\u2019s \u201cJulius Caesar\u201d, Armida in H\u00e4ndel\u2019s \u201cRinaldo\u201d as well as the Daughter in Hindemith\u2019s \u201cCardillac\u201d.<\/p>",
