In June 1 - 5, 2005 - the 4th Klaudia Taev International Competition for Young Singers took place.
The 30 participants of the competition came from 23 countries: Austria, China, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, South-Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, Yugoslavia and Estonia.

As a part of the Competition the opera production of Demon by A. Rubinstein was staged in Theatre Endla with the winner of the previous the 3rd Klaudia Taev Competition Laimonas Pautienius (Lithuania) performing the title role.

Paul Himma (Estonia) - General Director of the Estonian National Opera
Ingrid Kremling (Germany) - Prof. at the University of Theatre and Music Hamburg
Erki Pehk (Estonia) - Artistic Director of the Competition, conductor at the Estonian National Opera
Stefan Sköld (Sweden) - Artistic Director of Dalhalla Opera Festival, conductor
Alexandr Vedernikov (Russia) - Soloist of Bolshoi Theatre, bass

2nd prize was sponsored by Statoil Estonia and 3rd prize was sponsored by Oriflame Estonia
The special prize was presented by Prof. Ingrid Kremling.
